Sales
Welcome to the Harbour World Boat Sales Area!
Harbour World ensures your purchase of your dream boat goes as smoothly as possible, giving you as much help and advice as possible. As well as listing all the boats for sale in the Boats sales area, we've provided other important areas to help you make the right decision when purchasing.
The "Buying guides" area lists in order the precautions, and the minimum research you would need to carry out to ensure you end up with the boat you really need, not just because it's the cheapest, but because its right for what you need to use it for, there's no point buying a Yacht if you only intend to use it at weekends and need to get somewhere quickly - buy a powerboat!! - buying guides
The "Boat review" area, which is constantly growing by users of this web portal, will provide you with critical information and the benefits of the boat you might be looking to buy, as well as those hidden problems only the owners would know about - so you can make sure they are fixed before purchase, unless you are willing to work on the boat yourself - but remember the costs of putting your boat into dry dock, and always consider using professionals as an alternative if you're not quite sure - boat reviews
The "Boat Surveyors" list does exactly that, it lists all boat surveyors all over the world. Depending on what boat you need surveying, where the boat is located, and how much work you want them to undertake will depend on the cost. Remember, this purchase could be as much as a house depending on its use, so like when buying a house, you need to get it surveyed to ensure what you are buying wont leak on your maiden voyage!
The "Manufacturers list" will enable you to research all the different companies that build all different types of boats, from dinghies, keel boats, all the way up to super-yachts. If you need any confirmation that the boat you are buying is really what it says it is, you can always contact the boat manufacturer to obtain the boats registered number, clarification of craft, or general advice.
The manufacturer will also be able to help and put you in touch with how to obtain OEM parts, which you maybe able to obtain in the Harbour World Shop, or put you in touch with a local boat maintenance company, which you also may be able to find in the Maintenance area here on the portal.
The Harbour World Boat Sales Team would be happy to talk and provide advice to anyone looking to buy any kind of boat, so feel free to call one of the team on the number below.

Welcome to the Harbour World Buying Guide!
Idiots guide to buying a boat
Harbour World has created many different areas for its customers to help provide advice when either making your first purchase for you're new boat, or to help those more experienced sailors some useful tips on buying.
Step 1 - Survey
In the Surveyors List you will find a range of both freelance surveyors, and companies which will all provide you with a survey. If registered, log-in and find one either near you or the location of your boat. By researching these listings you will be able to choose the best surveyor you require for the task in hand. If you have been asked by your Insurance Company to obtain a survey, then you may have to use one of their accredited organisations; so check to make sure they appear on the Surveyors List. If however the company does not appear on the list, ask your insurer if you are able to use an alternative, or chose an alternative Insurance company.
Step 2 - Minor Repairs
So you have bought your boat, but the survey has identified some works which need to be carried out before you set sail or power across the bay. Many of the companies listed in the Maintenance area are established repair companies, and are often approved repair centres for some of the world's largest boat manufacturers. If you have any doubts about the company you are intending to use, you could also contact the Boat Manufacturer direct to establish who they would recommend, see the Manufacturers list.
Step 3 - Equipment Purchase
Once you have carried out any minor repairs or changes to your boat to make seaworthy and to give it a more personal touch, you may also need new equipment for your first successful journey. You will also no doubt need either new or additional clothing, more importantly lifejackets therefore; you may spend much much more, so check out the Harbour World Shop to assist you in keeping your costs down.
Step 4 - Storage
Depending on the size of the boat, and what it's being used for, depends on how you store your boat, both in or out of season. A Harbour or Marina will offer you many of the facilities whilst your boat is either in or out of use, and in some cases certainly offer a secure place to leave your boat for long periods however, it can get very expensive, so shop around, and check out Port Information for other locations nearby to compare costs.
Also, don't forget, you will need to take your boat out of the water at some stage, so check the marina has a boat lifting facility, or a suitable useable ramp!
